Details

Build ID: 2002020406
Reproducible: Always
System: Dell Latitude | Pentium II with 128K Memory

1. Launch N6
2. Go to MyYahoo!
3. Click on the Launch Messenger link

Results: Yahoo! Messenger takes about 1 - 2 minutes to open, and the Netscape 6
applications begins to experience serious perfromance problems (i.e. New windows
take minutes to open or the application hangs)

Note: Yahoo! Messenger works correctly in Netscape 4.x, and as a standalone client.
nominating, because there are quite a few yahoo users out there.

This may be of interest:

On my Dell Latitude | Pentium I (233MHz) | 64M RAM | build 20020204 (Mozilla
0.98) the Yahoo Messenger window opens immediately and Mozilla continues to
function normally.

But I don't have the Java plugin installed. The Yahoo Messenger window opens,
but the Java program does not run, obviously. So perhaps the reporter's problem
is Java related?

I tried to use web-based Yahoo messenger (I think it uses a java plugin)
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030704
Slackware 9.0
Dell Latitude CS - PII 400/192 MB RAM
libjavaplugin_oji.so in ~/.mozilla/plugins folder is a symlink
Java Plug-in 1.4.2_01

Septs to repeat:
1. Log on to Yahoo! (My Yahoo/Yahoo Mail)
2. Go to Yahoo! messenger
3. Select 'Launch Yahoo!Web Messenger Beta'

Interestingly enough, if I try to log onto Yahoo messenger web-version without
signing on to My Yahoo or Yahoo Mail, I get the following on the page:

Looks like a bug in thier PHP code. Probably a typo.

Log into yahoo, open a user profile and click "Send IM" under thier picture. Java messenger will open. Sign in as either available or invisible (doesn't matter). On the original web page copy the users name into the "Add as Buddy" form and submit it. Nothing happens. Copy the users name into the "Send Private Message" form and submit. Again nothing happens. Do this a couple more times. Eventually you will get a firefox crash. I was able to duplicate this twice in a row on Win2K/1.5RC3. Anyone else?
