Articles that haven't been updated in 90 days are automatically flagged as "stale" in the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/contributors. We periodically check stale articles and update them, but if an article doesn't need any changes, we have to submit a fake change anyway to reset its "stale" status back to current.

Can we add the ability to manually reset an article's stale status without submitting any revisions, if it didn't need any?
I don't think the stale field on that page works as you describe. Revisions have an expiration date, and if that date is passed, the revision is marked as stale. There isn't an automatic 90 day counter as far as I can tell. I expect you should just be able to update the expiration on the article. The field for that is under the content when editing articles.
setting as p3. :jsavage is comment 1 correct if so, we should close this bug right joni?

COmment #1 is correct. Revisions are marked as stale only when it passes the expiration date.
