Starting Mozilla 0.9.8, then Netscape 6.2: Netscape displays the 'welcome page', not my defined home page. Closing and restarting NS6.2 displays my home page. Starting Mozilla 0.9.8 after NS6.2 does exactly the same (goes to www.mozilla.org/start - which doesn't work, reported as another bug). Closing and restarting Mozilla displays my home page. Mozilla 0.9.7 worked fine together with NS6.2

Reporter: You mean that you run both : Netscape6x and Mozilla at the same time ?
related/dup of bug 102313 and/or bug 107694. This happens if user uses two releases utilising same profile (regardless of whether mozilla builds or mix moz/ns) Combination of a mozilla release build / nightly triggers similar behaviour.

Not "at the same time" as in "in parallel", but I have both installed. I used one, closed it, then the other. We have a customer planning a migration to NS6.2, but we have discovered some bugs which affect the intranet app which we are working on. I tried Mozilla 0.9.7, and now 0.9.8, to see whether the bugs had been fixed. Before getting that far, I noticed this behaviour in 0.9.8. 0.9.7 seemed OK in this respect.

This is not a "real" bug. NS6.x and Mozilla are using the same profile. (NS6.x is based on mozilla) You can use a different profile for each application Create a second Profile and start mozilla with "mozilla -p Mozilla_profile_name" and "netscape.exe -p Netscape_profil_name". You will not see this if you use only NS6.x on your systems. Mozilla/Netscape first loads a special page instead of your homepage. You will get the same if you use a Netscape 6.2.2 profile and upgrade to NS6.2.3. There is a version string in the profile and if you load the profile with another version string you will redirected to the "Welcome Page" and the versikn string in the profile is rewritten. bug 102313: We want a way to disable this homepage_override with a hidden pref. About the problem with: www.mozilla.org/start : Do you use a migrated 4.x profile ? If yes: You may hit bug 115720
