This is with the new bugzilla UI
jdm, how can we check the new bugzilla UI? Is it already enabled? Can you explain about concrete STR of "Expanding and contracting sections"? Thanks.

Bugzilla settings -> Preferences -> General Preferences -> "Use experimental user interface": On

Then click any of the collapsible separators like Status, Firefox Tracking Flags, etc. I will note that the performance is significantly better than it was when Jeff filed this using my bugzilla account after I complained about it.

Paint flashing reveals that the page is getting repainted, in its entirety, several times over during the expand/collapse animation. Something is really defeating our attempts to avoid unnecessary repaints.

(mattwoodrow suggested that maybe tables are involved -- because tables don't benefit from DLBI (DisplayList-Based Invalidation) -- but there don't seem to be any tables, from my poking around the page in inspector.)
