Steps to reproduce:

Just start Thunderbird 38.5.1., add T-online and GMail account and what a few minutes to get all mails synchronised by IMAP. If you just add the T-online account, everything is fine. It seems to be a problem with the Gmail account. But on the other hand, outlook 2013 works fine with both accounts.
I downloaded the source code with VS2010 in the hope to get more details regarding a mail, which cause the problem... But it seems my knowdledge is too poor... Attached is a screenshot with the callstack. Maybe it helps...

Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled
