When visiting several sites, GIF images load unpredictably; some will display,
some won't. (A placeholder with a broken image is shown instead.) Specific
images that will NOT load include google.com's logo image, slashdot.org's
content description images, and others.

The behavior began after I changed my preferences to only load images from the
current server (see Edit > Preferences > Privacy & Security > Images.)
Resetting the preferences did not change anything. Right-clicking and selecting
View Image causes a popup to display that notifies the user that the image
"cannot be found."

This problem seems to be limited to GIF images; JPEGs and PNGs load correctly.
The sites display correctly in IE 5.5 SP2 and Opera 6, as well as Netscape 6.2.1.

This bug was originally seen on the 0.9.8 milestone and I also was able to
reproduce it in build # 2002013103. Reinstalling over the top of a previous
installation, and uninstalling/reinstalling, did not solve the problem.

I am using Windows NT 4.0, SP6 on a PIII / 256MB RAM.
--> Preferences. It looks like this could be caused by Preferences not writing
the pref to start loading GIF images from other servers again.
