STR:
1. Open this simple testcase: data:text/html,<script>onmouseup=onclick=function(){}</script>
2. Open devtools -> Performance, click "Start Recording Performance"
3. Click on the page content (white area)
4. Click "Stop Recording Performance"
5. Detach devtools toolbox into separate window
6. Try to select a portion of timeline:
hover mouse over timeline, hold left mouse button, move mouse pointer, release left mouse button
Result:
Nothing. Step 6 completely fails
Expectations:
Step 6 should work nice, just like when devtools toolbox is docked to the bottom side of window

Selection fails in any scenario in the Toolbox's WindowMode it seems.
Summary: Profiler doesn't allow to select a portion of timeline if it's opened in separate window → Timeline selection does not work in Toolbox WindowHost mode
I accidentally determined that it doesn't work if I _switch_ Toolbox mode (normal/separate window), and if I initially open devtools in separate window, everything works in WindowHost mode. STR in comment 0 only show 1 side of the problem.
Summary: Timeline selection does not work in Toolbox WindowHost mode → Timeline selection does not work after switching Toolbox mode (nomal/WindowHost)

This report is related to the old DevTools Profiler.
The Performance panel now points to the new Firefox profiler available at profiler.firefox.com
