User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0
Build ID: 20160105164030
Steps to reproduce:
Sometimes when I single click on unfocused tab while FF window is unfocused as well - the tab behave as it was doubleclicked (gets closed in my case, if I change double click to reload tab for example - it will reload instead of closing).
Unfortunately, it's not 100% reproducible.
I think it's more common on pages with adobe flash (twitch.tv etc), but I'm not hundred percent sure.
Steps to reproduce:
1) I click out of FF window (it can be desktop or other window) to make it unfocused
2) Click on random unfocused tab (or tabbar)
As far as I know focused tab cannot be closed that way (and no tabs can be closed if FF window is focused). If you click on tabbar instead of tab - it creates new tab.
Actual results:
Here's short fragment https://gfycat.com/PossibleDescriptiveBluefish (or see attachment)
Different addons (Tab Mix Plus, Tab Utilities, Double Click Closes Tab) shows the same result.
I also have to say this bug occurs since FF39 inclusive (I was never able to reproduce it in FF 38)
Component: Untriaged → Tabbed Browser
Summary: Single click sometimes acts as double click when clicking on tab\tabbar while FF window is unfocused → Single click sometimes acts as double click when clicking on tab/tabbar while FF window is unfocused
Whiteboard: [DUPEME]
quick update: I was able to close focused tab that way, so the only known condition is FF window must be unfocused.
I found the way to reproduce this bug. Though it's not the only way, it works 100% of time.
1. Go to http://livestream.com/watch
2. There will be a featured stream. Click "play/pause" button or "mute" or just click anywhere on timeline.
3. Click out of Firefox window (desktop, another window etc)
4. Single click any tab (or tabbar)
The tab will close (or new tab will be created for tabbar)
Tested on clear FF44beta profile with DoubleClickClosesTab, Tab Mix Plus and Tab Utilities addons (all separately).
