After a user bookmarks, lets try and show a snackbar with the action of "save offline" readily available to our users.

I thought we decided we weren't going to do this? What is that "save offline" button going to do?
For a first version of saving things for offline, I think we should focus on helping people save reader view content, since we know for a fact we can cache that for offline use. We also need to think about that because currently we provide that functionality for reading list, but we're removing the reading list feature.

Hm, can we do this only for Bookmarked web pages that are RV-able?
I'd also like to know if we have usage numbers on the "Options" button for the current confirmation snackbar after a user bookmarks something. Also, the options inside the dialog.
I know we have "Add to Homesceen" and "Edit" in there but if our users aren't using it right now, I want to use this to help further our "Save Offline" story. That seems more valuable.
Current:
---
Bookmark added OPTIONS
Proposed (where web page is RV-able):
---
Bookmarked SAVE OFFLINE
- pressing this would be the same as pressing the Bookmark Star after the page is in RV. Like a shortcut
Proposed (where regular web page is bookmarked):
Bookmarked EDIT
- pressing this would shortcut to the edit bookmark dialog (much more valuable when we get "move" functionality)

In this case I think the user would expect the whole page to be saved, not necessarily just the reader view version. So I think we should explore the technical details of what this would mean.
I think we should try to follow the same logic that desktop uses for the "Save" menu item to actually save the HTML and all the sub-resources. The one thing with this is that this will take up a lot of space, so we'll want to make sure users have a way to get rid of this (and know how much space it's taking up).

I definitely like this a lot more than "OPTIONS". We should make sure another bug is on file to replace "OPTIONS" with "EDIT". The one thing we'll lose out on here is giving users the option to add the page to the homescreen from here, but UI telemetry says this is the least-used way to add something to your homescreen:

And we should be promoting the other ways soon.

Ya maybe. But sometimes the Reader version is all they need. And as a prototype, I think just being able to save the users "content" (in this way or another) would be very helpful to see in action.
This also just gives our offline bookmarks a little bit more visibility.

Yep good point! I'll need to give this some more thought as this progresses.
