Steps to reproduce:

1)i started firefox normal + tracking protection mode.
2)open facebook account in tracking protection mode.
3)open video chat with frienda(at that moment my friend is not reachable).
4)log out and close tracking protection window.
5)close normal window of firefox too.
6)but camera and recorder was still open in my pc.
 


Actual results:

After closing firefox browser, camera and recorder is not closed.


Expected results:

camera and recorder close after closing browser.

Thanks for reporting this.

- Is this something that happened only once, or something that you can reproduce? If you can reproduce, it could be helpful to open the Browser Console (Tools -> Web Developers -> Browser Console) and see if there are any errors there that could be related.

- Is there a physical activity indicator on your camera (eg. a light next to it). If so, can you confirm that the camera is still active, and that the bug is not limited to the camera indicator window failing to close itself?

   -it is something that happened only once.
   -yes my laptop have camera indicater(light) and at that time camera light was open. and i closed this by using task manager in windows.

Randell, do you have an idea of what could cause the camera to stay active after the window is closed? Do we have any similar bug?

My current vague guess is that something on the Facebook page could have caused us to leak memory and keep the window active as a ghost, thus not closing devices, but I don't know if this is realistic.

If for some reason shutdown hung you might see this, and often in Windows the Window goes away before the process shuts down.  That might have happened here.  With the Shutdown Hang detector, this shouldn't go on for more than a minute, but hard to say for a one-off problem. It could even be a hardware fault.

I'm resolving as incomplete for now because if it happened only once and we have no way to reproduce, I don't think we can fix it. But feel free to reopen if it happens again or (even better) if you find a way to reproduce consistently.
