Alexandra, can you please test to confirm this is the range? Also, it appears you're using an AMD GPU, can you please attach a copy of about:support to this bug?
I suspect bug 1097321 could be a factor.

[Tracking Requested - why for this release]: while this is nowhere near a top-issue in 44 Beta, it could become more significant in release if it is tied to AMD GPUs. Nominating to track so the Release team is aware and can be on the look out for potential fallout.

No, that's not the range - I managed to crash 44.0a1 both from 27 and 28 October, but not with this signature (please see below):
* 2015-10-27:
** bp-fc2df673-bb00-495e-99fb-660522160126
** bp-83c6e04c-a8b2-42a4-b168-5e2772160126
* 2015-10-28
** bp-56a3d919-5956-42d1-b447-e0d762160126
** bp-a4f442b3-82f5-4332-876a-6e0622160126
Will investigate further.
> Also, it appears you're using an AMD GPU, can you please attach a copy of about:support to this bug?
Sure! Copy attached.

I don't know if that's the same issue. I think there's too many issues surrounding this testcase on your system to know for sure. Perhaps one of the devs knows better.

These are bug 1241861.

This is bug 1217128.

There is a more current driver version available for your card. Please make sure you're using the latest drivers and software updates on your system.

Yes, exactly. I am kind of stuck with finding the regression range here since I cannot manage to reproduce the exact signature with older builds.

Based on AMD’s website - http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows%207%20-%2064, AMD HD3000 does not have a newer version of driver; I am running the latest. Windows also prompts that the driver software for my device is up to date.
What happens with these issues if you disable hardware acceleration?
Moving the tracking forward to 45, I don't think this crash is a high volume one on 44 and seems a wontfix.

Unable to reproduce this crash with hardware acceleration disabled using latest 47.0a1 (from 2015-01-31).
It does though constantly reproduce with 47.0a1, e10s disabled:
* bp-241621f0-48c5-41e1-b0ca-9c0392160201
* bp-af1f4d31-fa20-47de-baa9-f1cb62160201
status-firefox47:
--- → affected
If this can be worked around by turning off hwa perhaps we can blocklist the affected configuration. This would likely mitigate the "nest" of stability bugs Alexandra has filed with her system.
Milan, what do you think?
