Either via the side bar or the edit>preferences>internet search, is you click on the drop down list and go to the scroll arrow at the bottom/top of the list the list scrolls, but doesn't stop when move the mouse off the arrow. It will scroll all the way to the bottom/top of the list. You can click randomly as it is scrolling by quickly but it is impossible to hit the one you want. The workaround I did was to try and hit near the search engine I wanted and hope it would be on the page after i had set it as default. Mac os 9.0.4
I think this and 124246 are related. Just checked build 2002020608 and problems still persist. Can sometimes get around it using cursor keys instead of the mouse. I'll let someone else decide if it is related, etc, don't really know what I'm doing in bugzilla, sorry :-/
Hmm, seems I didn't include the build number with the original problem: it was build 2002020405
heywood, can you reproduce this problem using a new Mozilla user profile?
Severity: critical → normal
Greg, Just checked using build 2002052917 and the problem still exists using a new profile. Obviously this problem is only with the modern theme since the classic one has a different interface to the search engine select (scrollbar as opposed to the scroll arrows). A work around is to use the advanced option for the search sidebar. Simon.
Confirmed using Mac/2002071608. Adding qawanted because this is a duplicate.
