Steps to reproduce: 1. Do a clean install - emulating first time install on a machine- and have multiple 4.x profiles 2. The first launch shows me the ProfileManager with a list of the profiles to be migrated. 3. Choose one and launch etc. QuickLaunch icon is in the system tray. 4. Close to relaunch with a second profile. Actual results: Clicking on the icon opens the browser. I do not get a Profile Manager from clicking on the icon. expected results: Profile Manager comes up Workaround: I can go to the Start Menu and select Profile Manager, migrate profile #2 or create a second profile, and test it. Now clicking on systray icon does bring up Profile Manager as expected.

Grace, that sounds right to me regardless of QuickLaunch. > 3. Choose one and launch etc. QuickLaunch icon is in the system tray. Since this was a clean machine, you only have one current profile at this point. The profile mgr should not come up if you have only one current profile no matter how many 4x profiles you have. > 4. Close to relaunch with a second profile.

Yes, I see that- just retested without turbo. I guess I miss the Program Folder with both N6.2 and N6.2 PM icons - Seems awkward to have to search for PM icon. I should relnote this as others have run into it and were not sure what was happening

OK, so this ain't misbehaving. It's not very good UE though. This would probably best be fixed by bug 97622. In that, dynamic profile switching will be done by simply having the profile mgr available from a menu. When you bring up that menu, it will show the profile manager dialog in which users will always see yet-to-be migrated profiles. I think the way it is now where the profile manager dialog is only shown at startup time makes things difficult for the user. This is one example.

Changing component since this has nothing to do with quicklaunch.
Component: QuickLaunch (AKA turbo mode) → Profile Migration

removing turbo mode from summary
Summary: Second launch in turbo mode does not show unmigrated profiles → Second launch does not show unmigrated profiles

FYI: Bug 44597 also requests this feature. This might be good to keep open since bug 204580 may be more of dupe to this than to bug 44597.
