User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 Build ID: 20160105164030 Steps to reproduce: 1. Connect to Mozilla IRC Server 2. /msg nickserv register password email@ddress.example Actual results: Nickserv replied advising that I need to check my email and confirm my email address within 24 hours or the nickname registration will be automatically dropped. No email message was received (could be related to Bug 975664) Also tried Nickserv's RESEND command - same result, no email received. Expected results: This could be one of two: 1> If email confirmation is supposed to be enabled, an email should be sent (from a valid email account) with the confirmation details to allow a user to register. 2> If email confirmation for registrations isn't supposed to be turned on, the nickname should be registered without requiring a confirmation email to be sent.
It's neither. Some mail servers are rejecting the confirmation email because they're unable to see the sender domain, which is the FQDN of the IRC server. This needs some config change and I'm working on that in a separate bug. I'll update this bug once the work is done.
Please attempt an "/msg NickServ RESEND" now
