Go to http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/new-banksy-art-outside-french-embassy-could-be-removed-by-building-owner-a6832276.html and start the video.

Behavior:

In Chrome the videos on their page play correctly.

In Firefox an error appears when you try to play a video ("This video is either unavailable or not supported in this browser" "Error Code: MEDIA_ERR_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED" ...)

The error looks similar to the one in bug 1194658 & 1194662.

In Firefox OS there's a different error ("Could not download the video" "Error Code: PLAYER_ERR_TIMEOUT").
TE this breaks on desktop with the Firefox Android UA. Brightcove is the player, might be HLS?

Seems to work fine in my Firefox on Android - re-test?
For me on Nightly Fennec and on Desktop with a Fennec UA string I get the familiar:

"HTTP "Content-Type" of "application/vnd.apple.mpegurl" is not supported. Load of media resource http://c.brightcove.com/services/mobile/streaming/index/master.m3u8?videoId=4720285017001&pubId=624246174001 failed."
No longer blocks: m3u8video
Depends on: m3u8video
See also bug 1274864, looks like it depends on the Android version.

Same problem with most videos under www.lastampa.it and there it applies to Chrome as we'll.

For me Android 5.1.1 and Firefox up to date.
This is a known issue for M3U8.

Status update: the PR has been merged into v5.12, but according to https://github.com/videojs/video.js/pull/3586#issuecomment-252774033, they're still using 5.11.7. So they need to update.

Switching to contactready to encourage them to do so.

Embedded videos of Brightcove will not play in Seamonkey browser on my desktop. I have just noticed this in the last Couple of months. It will play on IE but not Seamonkey. Most of the videos are from news websites in UK ie Mirror.Co.UK. I am currently using Seamonkey ver. 2.40 as there has not been an update in a long time. When I click on the video to play it, the screen just shows it buffering with the spinning circle. I can leave the page up for an hour and it just looks like it is buffering and will not start (no error message). I can always find the video on Youtube and the same video will play there fine. I am using Windows 7 as my OS. Seamonkey has HTML5 and I also have Flash loaded.
R. Suttie is about the sniffing of Firefox Android due to brightcove for independent.co.uk.

Mirror.Co.UK is another Web site.

Brightcove and seamonkey would be a different bug (to open) to understand
1. which parts of brightcove is failing with SeaMonkey
2. and once fixed (if necessary depends on 1.) separate bugs for each of the sites which need to update their version of brightcove for working with the new version.

A bug on https://webcompat.com/ Maybe.

Though from my experience, Seamonkey user agent sniffing are a lot harder to get fixed. A bit like Firefox OS because of the very low marketshares.
Looks like they have updated their player. It works now on Android.
