Description

down loaded nightly and installed on SUSE 13.1 while trying resolve bug 1243073
firefox-47.0a1.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2

When running from remote desktop on a SUSE 11 machine using ssh -X
get this message on any tab
Bad news first: This tab has crashed

If running from VNC desktop on same SUSE 11 machine using ssh -X
it works fine.

firefox-44.0.tar.bz2
Works from both a remote desktop and VNC desktop using ssh -X

SUSE 13.1 uname -a
Linux 3.11.10-29-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Mar 5 16:24:00 UTC 2015 (338c513) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

SUSE 11 sp3 uname -a
Linux 3.0.101-0.47.71-default #1 SMP Thu Nov 12 12:22:22 UTC 2015 (b5b212e) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

both machines fully patched
Given that it occurs only under remote desktop, and not under VNC, I'm guessing this may be gfx-related.

I believe there have been substantial changes in the graphics system recently -- moving away from use of xrender, etc -- so I wonder if that's what has caused the problem here.

Tentatively moving this bug to Core::Gfx, to bring to the notice of people who may know something.
