I'm managing a community website, where we fetch the product-details JSON feed from mozilla.org and update our content according to recent changes.

With the Firefox 44 release last week, we've faced a problem - The JSON feed on mozilla.org is out of sync. I understand that mozilla.org is delivered by CDN, and I waited patiently, but it is still outdated.

below is the content of https://www.mozilla.org/includes/product-details/json/firefox_versions.json:

{
    "LATEST_FIREFOX_VERSION": "43.0.4",
    "LATEST_FIREFOX_DEVEL_VERSION": "44.0b6",
    "LATEST_FIREFOX_RELEASED_DEVEL_VERSION": "44.0b6",
    "LATEST_FIREFOX_OLDER_VERSION": "3.6.28",
    "FIREFOX_AURORA": "45.0a2",
    "FIREFOX_ESR": "38.5.2esr",
    "FIREFOX_ESR_NEXT": ""
}

It's upstream is hosted on the SVN, and it is up-to-date. https://svn.mozilla.org/libs/product-details/json/firefox_versions.json

{
    "LATEST_FIREFOX_VERSION": "44.0",
    "LATEST_FIREFOX_DEVEL_VERSION": "45.0b3",
    "LATEST_FIREFOX_RELEASED_DEVEL_VERSION": "45.0b3",
    "LATEST_FIREFOX_OLDER_VERSION": "3.6.28",
    "FIREFOX_AURORA": "46.0a2",
    "FIREFOX_ESR": "38.6.0esr",
    "FIREFOX_ESR_NEXT": ""
}

Does these feeds are outdated by purpose? Is there any plans to shutdown this service?

The /includes directory was used when mozilla.org was powered by PHP and was likely unintentionally exposed to the public many years ago, but is now completely deprecated. An up-to-date version of firefox_versions.json is currently available at http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/libs/product-details/json/firefox_versions.json?view=co and eventually that will be replaced by https://product-details.mozilla.org/firefox_versions.json -- we should probably add a redirect to bedrock for this.

https://product-details.mozilla.org/firefox_versions.json is even more outdated than the mozorg copy, so at the moment can't be used as well.

{
  "FIREFOX_AURORA": "42.0a2",
  "FIREFOX_ESR": "38.2.1esr",
  "FIREFOX_ESR_NEXT": "",
  "LATEST_FIREFOX_DEVEL_VERSION": "43.0b7",
  "LATEST_FIREFOX_OLDER_VERSION": "3.6.28",
  "LATEST_FIREFOX_RELEASED_DEVEL_VERSION": "43.0b7",
  "LATEST_FIREFOX_VERSION": "38.2.1"
}

That's correct: as I mentioned in comment #1 that will eventually be the canonical source, but until the migration off of svn is complete the up-to-date version will remain at http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/libs/product-details/json/firefox_versions.json?view=co
This is now up to date:
https://product-details.mozilla.org/firefox_versions.json
