What problem would this feature solve?
======================================
There are no metrics for API usage. We expect most traffic to come from MDN, and for traffic to be roughly equivalent to MDN traffic. If the project is successful, this may change to integrations on other websites with different traffic patterns. Setting up analytics will mean we have data for when the usage pattern changes.
Who has this problem?
=====================
Staff contributors to MDN
How do you know that the users identified above have this problem?
==================================================================
Analytics on MDN are often used to prioritize features, plan infrastructure work, and understand the audience.
How are the users identified above solving this problem now?
============================================================
There is no current equivalent for BrowserCompat
Do you have any suggestions for solving the problem? Please explain in detail.
==============================================================================
Google Analytics provides the measurement protocol for environments where in-browser tracking is unsuitable. Requests that make it to the API server can be sent asynchronously to the measurement protocol, and analyzed with GA tools.
Is there anything else we should know?
======================================
It is unknown if API users need to opt-in to GA tracking at this level.
