From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; Q312461) BuildID: 2002020908 If you click on a news link, the subscription dialog pops up. If you press OK, the Account Wizard is displayed, asking you for your name and email address. Enter the information and click Next. Here you are asked to specify the incoming server. Insead of entering that information, press the Back button, and you will see "New Account Setup". At this stage, the modal window is useless. All controls are unusable, and the close/cancel button doesn't work. You are forced to Ctrl+Alt+Delete Mozilla. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.click on a news link, the subscription dialog pops up 2.press OK, the Account Wizard is displayed, asking you for your name and email address. Enter the information and click Next. 3.Here you are asked to specify the incoming server. Insead of entering that information, press the Back button, and you will see "New Account Setup". Actual Results: the modal window is useless. All controls are unusable, and the close/cancel button doesn't work. You are forced to Ctrl+Alt+Delete Mozilla. Expected Results: It should go back one step and display the name and email address window and not lock up the whole dialog. The irony of it all is that I clicked on a newsgroup on Mozilla.org just to be able to watch for other people's discussions on bugs before reporting them!
Esther, can you try this on XP? Thanks.

Is this a duplicate of bug 122930 / bug 109997 / bug 110000?

QAWanted: Ninoschka, Esther, have you been able to reproduce this? If so, shouldn't it be nominated for MachV? Bhuvan, do you agree that it depends on bug 122930?
Keywords: qawanted
Ideally, we should disable back button on launching new wizard like this as user already decided to create a news account (i.e., no need to go to which account type page, <wizard/> is possibly getting confused as mappings would not have been set properly at that time). When user wants to create a new account (of some other type), he/she can always use AccountCentral or Add Account from Account Manager. So, I don't think this bug is dependent on bug 122930. Bug 122930 is more for wizard on not keeping track of pages it visited and jumps it makes (going back 2 pages) when you start the wizard on a page which is not the first. Removing the dependency.

No longer depends on: 122930
Using builds 20020501 on winxp and win2000 stephen and I can't reproduce the Hang. After we press the Back button we're taken to the Account Wizard, if you select Newsgroup and Next, the fields are still filled in Cancel will Cancel the dialogs, however the subscription to the Newsgroup does take place without finishing the process (Stephen will log a new bug for that and note it in this one). This bug as originally stated appears to be fixed. David, Jonas or Gavin do you still see this?

Nope. (using a two weeks old branch build)

It doesn't occur anymore. How come a bug gets fixed without anyone knowing it?

Marking WFM.
> How come a bug gets fixed without anyone knowing it?
Most likely because this bug was a side-effect of a problem which was fixed in
another bug, causing this bug to go away as well.

Branch build 2002-07-16: WinMe, Linux RH 7.1, Mac 10.1.3 Verified Worksforme, since it doesn't appear to hang or crash. Also logged bug# 157821 to cover the "going back 2 pages" problem described in comment# 7.
