There are extra / odd margins around the various panes in the Address Book. In the modern skin, the margin that is wrong is the one around the left address book picker pane. In Classic, there is no thick margin anywhere, but there are some bevel borders or similar that are inconsistent with the ones in the similar panes in Mail & News, for example. I'll attach a screenshot from Classic, where the bug is the most obvious and "critical". I'm using build ID 2002020908 but it's been like this for a long time..

I don't view that as an extra margin. If you look at the left side of the address area, you have the same margin on that side too. The only difference is that on the right side, you also have the "resize bar" that allows you to make the address area wider or narrower. This is not a bug.
Compare it with the folder pane in the Mail & News. The layout is the same 3-pane layout in both windows and only the Address Book has the margins around the left pane. It's inconsistent with the rest of the application. Further, under Classic, there is no such margin around the 3rd pane, which means it's there only in Modern, for some reason. Inconsistency. Clearly a bug IMHO, but not a severe one, of course. That doesn't make it invalid tho.
Changing component and I'm not marking it as new, because althought it seems to be a bug I'm not a GUI guru ;)
Component: Address Book → Mail Window Front End
It certainly was by design, but the design must has changed: The border is no longer seen in modern or classic. Tested with day old CVS, Linux. Resolving as WFM.
