User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0 Build ID: 20160211182547 Steps to reproduce: Unchecked "Enable Global Search and Indexer". - The "Global Search" input field disappears. Restart Thunderbird. - The "Global Search" input field is visible again - The "Enable Global Search and Indexer" is Checked again. Actual results: Global Search and Indexer is not disabled after a restart. Expected results: Global Search and Indexer should be disabled permanently.

(thanks for testing the beta) Does it reproduce in safe mode? If it does, please check that prefs.js is writeable, i.e. that it is not read only. What's in Tools | Error Console when you attempt to set it? n.b. bug 1182058 is an example caused by an addon

Hello, Why i didn't find that bug before i posted mine, i don't know. But it is the same issue. Someone reported an issue 4 days ago about this. https://github.com/Ericsson/exchangecalendar/issues/425
