Steps to reproduce:

Firefox puts a speaker icon on the tab whenever the page plays a sound.


Actual results:

If the sound is paused from the page, the icon disappears.


Expected results:

Firefox should make the speaker icon sticky (i.e. once the speaker appears on a tab, it should never disappear until the page is navigated away from). e.g. instead of making the speaker disappear should keep the speaker but make it look like an outline instead of being filled in solid.

currently (3 states):

1. tab-muted = solid speaker + slash
2. no sound currently playing = no icon
3. sound currently playing = solid speaker

suggested (5 states):

1. no sound ever = no icon
2. sound currently playing + tab-muted = solid speaker + slash
3. sound was playing + tab-muted = speaker outline + slash
4. sound currently playing = solid speaker
5. sound was playing = speaker outline

How is this a duplicate since it implies that sound indicator should display _more_ information?
I.e. 1232357 doesn't cover suggested state №3, which I find very useful
It should be resolved separately (probably "wontfix", but it's not bug 1232357 anyway)

#3 is handled since bug 1232357 should show a muted tab icon for a few seconds after the video has stopped playing.

This isn't a duplicate of that bug. Bug 1232357 makes the icon disappear after N seconds. This bug is about keeping an outline/skeleton version of the icon instead of having it disappear completely.
