I just ran across this:  
The Visual ARIA Bookmarklet

It's a good idea — create some kind of visual tool that highlights ARIA roles in use. Make what is typically experienced by a screenreader or assistive technology visual, so developers can easily scan visually and see if they are doing things right. 

I don't know if there's discussion on how to create a visual helper tool for better accessibility on another Bugzilla ticket, but perhaps this suggestion is helpful.
I'm assuming this would be integrated somehow with the Inspector panel

Yura has been working on devtools lately, and might have ideas about this feature.
I think this would be useful, just not sure how we'd integrate it in the existing tools, and make it discoverable enough for people who need it.

Yes this is on our roadmap. We are thinking of adding accessibility sidebar tab (within the inspector) specifically to reflect ARIA and other accessibility properties if they are available. Eitan and I will open bugs (or incorporate such as this one) shortly.
