Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0 Build ID: 20160210153822 Steps to reproduce: Clicked on desktop icon shortcut to Gmail and Google. Deleted shortcut, reinstalled and same. Actual results: Opened new tab only Expected results: Should have linked to URL Properties in desktop shortcut icon
Seems latest upgrade to 44.0.2 is causing havoc with browser. Safe mode does same thing..refresh does same thing..

Hello Reporter, I don't see any issue with shortcut of Gmail and Google. I tested on Windows 7 and Windows 10 with Firefox 42.0.2. It seems that your URL is not linked with shortcut. Try http://www.worldstart.com/create-a-custom-gmail-desktop-shortcut/ and fresh profile https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles. Let me know your finding.

Glad you did not but I and many others have! Safe mode, fresh profile done for this and other Bug ticket I have. Shortcut works fine with every other browser but FF. URL is fine. You want to screenshare to see for yourself feel free to contact me! Seems FF doesnot want to do that with both issues because then it would prove THEY have a problem.

Guess this is another example of that great "concerned for user Mozilla support". What a sorry excuse for website support! You people should be ashamed of yourselves!
