Details

If a URL has a colored emoji in it, the location bar does not change. The displayed address and icon both stay the same.

Test case:
search "
test case is search a colored emoji in google

(this is not a core bug)
(on affected operating systems the icon and url on the location bar will not change when navigating to that page forward, backward, or switching tab)
@reporter:
Please
a) Contribute a problem related step by step instruction containing every
   key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem due to
   <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines>
   (similar to report in Bug 1139273); "Is a Google Search" is much too unclear.
b) Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
   problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
   into a OOo or LibreOffice DRAW document and to add comments
   that explain what you want to show (attach .png or PDF from source document)
c) add information
c1) concerning your Operating System (Language)
c2) concerning your SM Version and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
c3) SM settings that might be related to your problems
c5) Whether problem persists in safe mode without add-ons

AFAIK the URL bar is monochrome. This means that emoji are displayed in "text presentation" (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emoji#Emoji_vs_text_presentation) and that Fitzpatrick modifiers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fitzpatrick_scale) are dispayed as spacing boxes rather than as color modifiers. (On my system they are displayed as hollow box "unknown character" placeholders.)
I am sure this is fixed in all releases now. Smells like bug 1271291.
Related to "Bug 1271291 - New URL not shown when containing a few UTF8 characters"?
I think a duplicate. Maybe we should mark this one also security relevant.
I close this one as DUP for now.
@Reporter: Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you still can reproduce the problem with a current SeaMonkey version (2.46 or later) or if you see other well founded indication that you fond an independent bug.
