125473 - Exiting mail window hangs browser and whole X

I access my mail on an IMAP server. After marking several messages as deleted
and doing some other mail-related stull, I want to exit Mail/News and select
File->Close. The whole Mozilla hangs, the mouse is not even changed back from
left-hand (used for menu selection) to the normal right-hand mode, so I cannot
do anything in that X-session anymore. Everything is "fixed" by killing
mozilla-bin from the text console. This happened every time I tried Mail/News of
version 0.9.8.

Indeed, looks similar to bug #125355. But the suggestion there to use
"File->Offline->Work Offline" before closing the window does not help. Ctrl-W
hangs Mozilla every time, using the mouse to select "File->Close Window" hangs X
as well until I kill mozilla-bin from the console.

After deleting my ~/.mozilla directory and starting my profile from scratch -- a
task which took 2 hours... :-( -- this seems to work now as it is supposed to be
(at least with Mozilla 0.9.9+/2002041510).
