The "Search [SearchEngine] for [SelectedText]" context menu item doesn't work with text in an <input type="text">. The URL field contains a testcase. Build 2002020703 on Win2k.

I'm not sure if this is the same bug but, on mac os9 and osx I am seeing a blank drop down menu when typing a search subject into the URL field. If I type something that matches the autofill history, then the drop down pops matches as expected. If this is different than what this bug is about, let me know and I'll log another. thanks

behavior slightly different than originally reported. Now, "search" is not even listed in contact menu. Perhaps this regressed with the addition of spellchecker?

The patch in the equivalent Firefox bug (bug 360331) may be useful.
