Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020205 This is new to 0.9.8 or .7. When composing a new e-mail message and saving as file (only "as text" is available here), only the body is saved. The header is missing. In previous versions headers were also saved as expected. pi

Save as File from the compose window ha never saved the headers! This was like that already with Netscape 4.x.

Right. What I previously did was saving to a folder and from there to file. So here also the option to save as eml should be available. pi

This capability still does not exist in TB3.0rc1 Does anyone know where to look to add this capability? I traced it down to message.saveAs, but I can't find that class function.

This capability isn't in TB3.0rc2. Does anyone know where message.saveAs is defined so that I can modify it to add the headers.

The corresponding request for full printing of compositions (including headers) is Bug 297702.
