For normal profiles we show the alexa top 5 sites as default suggested tiles (Currently: Facebook, YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia, Twitter). For restricted profiles we still show Mozilla, Webmaker, ...

Updating them allows us to remove the resources for those tiles.

However the question is whether we can use the same tiles: Is Facebook a good tile for a family friendly browsing experience? As long as we do not ship a block list yet we might not need to answer this now.

We went through some back-and-forth to come up with the suggested sites we include now with FFB, and I want to avoid a long discussion here. I also don't want us to spend too much time on this feature that we suspect not many people even use.

That being said, I definitely want us to remove resources where possible, so it would be great to align with what we ship by default for normal profiles, although I agree we should think about whether it makes sense to show some of these sites that require users to be a certain age (e.g. you must be 13 to make a Facebook account). Also, kids likely won't be shopping for themselves on Amazon.

Would it make sense to just show Youtube and Wikipedia? If there are other additional sites that we would to include, then we wouldn't be better off than the current scenario with regard to resources.

Good question, I agree to NOT show the existing Top alexa websites for FFB profile.

I checked this category but not sure if this could be useful: http://www.alexa.com/topsites/category/Top/Kids_and_Teens

I'm thinking we could leverage some of the sites that DMOZ shows for teens since we are using their whitelist anyways, or just their website as one tile (http://www.dmoz.org/Kids_and_Teens/). And have another tile that links to a SUMO article how to use FFB.

Thoughts?

P.s. I also don't want to have this take forever to finalize.

This shouldn't be priority to work on anyways right now.
