found using 2002.02.14.08 comm bits on linux rh7.2. 1. create a news account --i made one which uses the internal netscape server. 2. go to account central, click on "subscribe to newsgroups" 3. when the subscribe dialog appears, i immediately start typing a string [eg, "mcom"] within the quicksearch field. during this time, newsgroups are being downloaded per the progress bar at the bottom of the dlg. 4. wait until download is finished.... results: after the progress bar goes away, the group list is empty: no tree, no results for the quicksearch either.
Attached image screenshot w/empty list
side note: wasn't able to repro this when i used news.mozilla.org --i think it's because there aren't as many groups there, compared with the huge amount in the netscape internal server.

This means that it was logged against the old Mozilla suite and we cannot determine that it's still valid for the current SeaMonkey suite. Because of this, we are setting it to an UNCONFIRMED state. If you can confirm that this report still applies to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it back to the NEW state along with a comment on how you reproduced it on what Build ID, or if it's an enhancement request, why it's still worth implementing and in what way.
