There is https://github.com/rail/releasetasks/compare/fennec_prep...rail:source_version?expand=1, which depends on bug 1256295 and https://tools.taskcluster.net/task-inspector/#V7RU_i1xTPuxjIw2qAjXeQ/0 in progress

The idea is to override MOZ_PKG_VERSION and use version instead of app_version
