1257156 - Can't copy and paste tasks in Today pane

In the Today pane, right-clicking on a task brings up a context menu that includes (among many other commands) the standard Cut, Copy, and Paste commands.  The "Cut" and "Paste" commands are always inactive.  The "Copy" command is active but seems to have no effect.  (For example, if I try to copy a task, and then right-click elsewhere in the Today pane, or even in the Tasks tab, the Paste command remains inactive.)  It *is* possible to copy a task from the Tasks pane, but it is not possible to paste it into the Today pane; the "Paste" command remains inactive.

This problem occurs in Lightning 4.0.7, which is not listed in the "Version" drop-down box in this Bugzilla.

Did you test this with today pane in mail tab? I tested with Lightning	4.9a2 in Thunderbird 47.0a2 and observed the following behavior:

Today pane in mail tab: copy enabled, cut & paste disabled. But copy doesn't copy anything. (You can test this by copying something than pasting into a text editor)

Today pane in calendar tab: cut, copy & paste work correctly.

Yes, my report is about the Today pane in the mail tab.  Your description of the problem matches mine.

Problem still exists in Lightning 4.7.8.  A related problem has also appeared wherein the "Copy" command in the context menu gets disabled when cascading menus appear -- see Bug 1352349.
