To be independent from profiles mcomella suggested to pass the profile as an argument to the Intent to start FeedService - see bug 1241810 comment 86. That's how we do it with the TelemetryUploadService: https://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/mobile/android/base/java/org/mozilla/gecko/telemetry/TelemetryUploadService.java#169
