Details
This is in version 0.9.7. Open an HTTP page in a fresh window. Create a new tab and open an HTTPS page in it. The lock icon remains unlocked no matter which tab is currently displayed. Now reverse the procedure: In a fresh window, open an HTTPS, then open an HTTP page. The icon will be locked for both pages. The icon should change to match whichever page is being viewed, like the URL does at the top.
http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla0.9.8/ When using the tabbed browser if you visit a secure page in any tab other than the first tab, then the "lock" icon in the lower right corner of the browser won't work properly. It will always display the security information about the first tab. This bug also affects the View > Page Info menu item. There are two workarounds for this problem: Don't use tabbed browser when browsing to sites where you are concerned about security, or only visit secure sites in the first tab. (Bug 101723) Yeah, I know you said 0.9.7. That's ok, we've got you covered. http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla0.9.7/ Tabbed Browsing When using the tabbed browser if you visit a secure page in any tab other than the first tab, then the "lock" icon in the lower right corner of the browser won't work properly.
