Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020204 BuildID: 2002020406 When I click on an account name in the left-hand pane of the mail and news window, an Outlook-esque page is displayed in right-hand pane providing options like - Read Messages - Compose Message - Search Messages and so on. Clicking on "Read Messages" displays the messages in the INBOX for that account (as you would expect), but also *checks the server for mail*. This is irritating since: - if you are not connected to the Internet the usual "host not found" message will be displayed unless you cancel quickly - I might not want to check my e-mail at that time Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Mozilla, open Mail and News component. 2. Click on account name in left-hand pane e.g. "foo at netscape.com". 3. Click on "Read Messages" link in right-hand pane. Actual Results: Messages displayed as expected but Mozilla attempts to contact the mail server to check and download mail. Expected Results: Should just have displayed the messages. Well, you could just add another option to the page shown in right-hand pane "Get Messages" and make "Read" do just what it implies.
