Details

Eight days ago (as of the date I filed this) I updated our (mofo's) DNS record for thimbleprojects.org to point to a new cloudfront distribution. External networks picked up the change in minutes, but it appears that our internal networks (wifi and wired) are unable to resolve it. I've gotten confirmation that it doesn't work in YYZ, YVR, Berlin and MTV. GH issue tracking the DNS update: https://github.com/MozillaFoundation/mofo-devops/issues/292 GH issue filed for unresolvable domain: https://github.com/mozilla/thimble.mozilla.org/issues/1463 Example project link: https://thimbleprojects.org/mozillalearning/62/
This is normal - when a domain is moved away from Mozillams name servers, coordination is required to update our previously-authoritative source to reflect the move. Moving to the appropriate component to get this fixed, but it may be one or two days due to unrelated events underway that prohibit us from making the necessary change at this time.
(Already in correct component.)
After consulting digi and unixfairy, we will need to remove the domain from Inventory, but since we are undergoing a changefreeze at the moment, I've filed the request as an emergency change to hopefully unblock your work. This change is currently being reviewed at the moment.
Domain has been deleted from inventory. I'll verify in a bit once the changes have propagated if the domain resolves correctly on Mozilla nameservers.
For tracking purposes, the change number was recorded as CHG0010220 within ServiceNow.
I'm able to resolve thimbleprojects.org from Mozilla hosts. Thanks again atoll and digi!
