Tiny fonts

Details
When reading mail, the fonts in the message headers are tiny. That means the
sender/subject/date/etc. fields.
The same problem with folder names, the "From" field when composing messages.
Under Netscape 4.6, I was able to adjust this via the .Xdefaults file.
This might depend on your default system fontsize, available fonts, font server,
dpi-setting in Mozilla and GTK theme.
I never saw the bug you describe, but i use TT-fonts, and in addition this in
prefs.js to masque the various occations where moz would otherwise show
unreadably small fonts:
user_pref("font.minimum-size.x-western", 10);
The digit is fontsize in px. You can set a higher number, of course.
I don't believe there are any intentions of using .Xdefaults for Mozilla.
The font stepping issue is dealt with in bug 111879.

All of the above is fine, I have thousands of available fonts. I don't know what
the default font size is.

What are TT-fonts?

I applied this line, adjusting the font size to 18 and it only applied to the
normal fonts
in the browser, not the header lines in the "Mail and Newsgroups" window.

I browsed that thread. What specifically must I do to increase the "Mail and
Newsgroups" window fonts? Get a configuration file?
TT - True Type fonts.

I don't see how this is a duplicate of bug 111879. Shouldn't the fonts in the
UI be coming from system fonts from the OS?

No response, so marking WFM. Bug 194500 might be helpful, though.

Hm, it was marked as WFM, not a dupe. I have not seen this bug in many different
versions under Linux, actually I have never seen it. Since the reporter is not
available for comment, there is nothing we have here.
