Steps to reproduce:
When I have multiple tabs open closing one of them causes the browser to crash about 6 times out of ten, the domains are unimportant and not related to the issue.
This is on Mac.
Actual results:
Browser crashes and produces crash report
Expected results:
Tab should close

You might have an extension breaking the tab functionality. Try Safe Mode or a new profile:

It does it in safe mode as well, it is fine as long as there are only three tabs open, with four tabs the fault occurs frequently, at some point after two or three crashes when it tries to restore it will open up with an additional 7 or 8 additional empty tabs.

I can reproduce it everytime now, it is affected by html5 fully responsive sites, I also found the solution, I have switched to Chrome, it is what it is, I have not got the time to chase down faults for Mozilla. Hopefully future versions will solve this issue.
