Hrm, I've tried to fix these pages:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Safe_Browsing
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Safe_Browsing:_Design_Documentation

But redirections to non-MDN pages don't seem to work.

asking John for advice - John, do redirects to external pages not work? In this case, they would be appropriate, as the up-to-date docs are now on WikiMo.

The code supports redirects, with the format:

REDIRECT <a class="redirect" href="https://wiki.mozilla.org/Safe_Browsing">https://wiki.mozilla.org/Safe_Browsing</a>

which is indeed how you've written the page. However, the HTML cleanup algorithm changes it to:

REDIRECT <a href="https://wiki.mozilla.org/Safe_Browsing" class="redirect" >https://wiki.mozilla.org/Safe_Browsing</a>

which is valid HTML but doesn't match the pattern, and thus isn't triggering the redirect. It is hard to say when this bug was introduced, and I can't see anything you can do on the client side to work around it.

We decided some time ago to stop supporting redirects to non-MDN sites, so this is not really considered a bug so much as a place where the content needs to change to present a clickable link to the destination site rather than trying to redirect automatically.

Looks like they've just been fixed:

and are now clickable links to the right places.

Because MDN redirects to external pages are not supported, this is about the best we can do. I have made the language around the links a bit nicer.
