+ a nice to have: give it the correct width so that samples on waterfalls match what's shown in the call graph content area.
Having an eagle eye view on a left pan might be an option? See the mockup.

The feature is already there - you need to grab the graph with mouse and then it can be moved. Pretty much hidden for me, found out by inspecting the code, actually.
