Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0
Build ID: 20160315153207
Steps to reproduce:
After Thunderbird 38 version update, when I create a "New Event", after updating event details, click "Save and Close". But it doesn't do anything.
Actual results:
No response to "save and close" button.
Expected results:
It should save the event in calendar and close the new event window. It was working fine on earlier versions.

What are the exact versions of Thunderbird and Lightning you are on?
Do you see any messages in the error console when the issue occurs?
Component: Untriaged → Dialogs
Product: Thunderbird → Calendar
Version: 38 Branch → unspecified

I am facing this issue since I updated version 38. I tried quite a few versions and currently on 38.7.0 and issue still out there.

Can you please provide the requested information from the error console?
What other calendar related addons do you use? Does the issue persists if you have disabled all of them?

I do not see any error console and there is no message that I notice anywhere. I do not have any addons. I am on Windows 7 machine.

You can start the error console either by the application menu or simply by pressing ctrl+shift+j
What are the exact version of TB and Lightning - for the latter see the list in the addons manager and for the former the about Thunderbird dialog available from the help menu.

The error message shows that a 3rd party extension throws an error in the event dialog. Please disable the extension that it abbreviates itself "obet" or "obel" an retest.
