NOT reproducible REPRODUCIBLE with English SeaMonkey 2.44a1 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0 Build 20160208023510 (Default Theme) on VirtualBox Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (but, to be honest, I haven't a clue what exactly the problem might be):
1. From Browser ˋLaunch e-mail-client using icon in SM Status barˊ
2. in existing IMAP account inbox ˋclick an e-mail in the Thread Paneˊ
» In Message Pane in grey heading area Subject contents shown as expected :-)
(Normal view or "All" does not matter)
3. ˋWith double click on e-mail in Thread Paneˊ open e-mail in new separate
Window
» In in grey heading area Subject contents shown as expected :-)
4. With ˋrightclick → Edit as newˊ on e-mail in Thread Pane open e-mail
as a new e-mail (Plain Text)
» Subject contents shown as expected
@Reporter:
Thank you for your attention, but unfortunately your report is much to imprecise.
Please:
a) Contribute a problem related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem due to
<https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines>
(similar to report in Bug 1139273)
b) Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a OOo or LibreOffice DRAW document and to add comments
that explain what you want to show (attach .png or PDF from source document)
c) add information
c1) concerning your Operating System (Version, Distribution, Language)
c2) concerning your SM localization (UI language, Locale setting)
c3) SM settings that might be related to your problems
May be you should attach a copy of menu
'Help → Trouble shooting information”
c4) how you launch SM (Double click on document? console? …)
c5) Whether problem persists in safe mode without add-ons
c6) Whether problem persists with blank new profile
c7) everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts
f) Your Email-Service-Provider
f1) POP3 or IMAP account?
Flags: needinfo?(kmbuick)
Started a fresh profile and this is how the e-mail looks in its current state.
Before adding a new profile I was able to read messages, now everything seems to be blank.
*This does not happen on version 45 of Seamonkey
Flags: needinfo?(kmbuick)
Grey heading worked in my old profile. Created a fresh profile and this is completely white(blank).
3. ˋWith double click on e-mail in Thread Paneˊ open e-mail in new separate
Window
» In in grey heading area Subject contents shown as expected :-)
This worked on my old profile. In my new profile, double click will open new window, but the window is completely blank.
4. With ˋrightclick → Edit as newˊ on e-mail in Thread Pane open e-mail
as a new e-mail (Plain Text)
» Subject contents shown as expected
Crashes on both profiles.
Mail is also crashing on random. Example being... Double clicking a message. reproducing this will sometime have no issues and sometimes it crashes. This happens more often on my old profile.
Again this issue does not happen on Seamonkey 2.45 nor have I had any issues in 2.40. I'm running Mint 17.3 English with a pretty basic dwm DE with Mate-settings-daemon. I'm using pop3 gmail, but rss seems to reproduce the issue consistently. All extensions are disabled on my old profile.
