Steps to reproduce:

Running Nightly 48.0a1 (2016-04-01). Tried to scroll a page using two fingers on the MacBookPro track pad.


Actual results:

Nothing.


Expected results:

The page should have scrolled.

I had to drag the scroll bar with the mouse in order to scroll the page.

This seems to be a recurrence of Bug 1131889 - "Two finger touch pad scroll on OS X broken in recent Firefox Dev build". I note that that was with the 37 Branch and this bug is with the 48 Branch.

There was a report of scrolling being broken with APZ (maybe kats remembers the bug?) ... could you try again with a more recent nightly? Can you provide the URL or was it happening with all sites?

This is likely a dupe of bug 1257862, but it's hard to tell from the lack of details. Did the scrolling stop just on that one tab, or across the whole browser? (i.e. did tab switching fix the problem?).

It's broken across the whole browser; every tab, every tab group, but not every window. Hmmm, I only have one window with multiple groups. Let me take a window with one group and make a second group. Yep, that broke scrolling! I guess it's a tab group addon problem?

And when I put the second group back into the first, scrolling stayed broken.

Do you have steps that actually reproduce the problem? It sounds like yes - if so, does it reproduce on a more recent Nightly build? If yes, does it reproduce on a clean profile?

Unfortunately, I'm getting ready to go on vacation tomorrow so probably won't be able to do anything with this until I get back. Feel free to load the tab groups extension, create some groups, and see what happens.

I tried this, and was unable to reproduce any problem. I'm going to close this bug as WFM for now, but if you can reproduce it when you get back please feel free to reopen it.
