Steps to reproduce:

Open the browser. Open up to 10 windows. Open up literally anything else and then leave that window over the firefox window with firefox not being minimized for about 3 minutes.


Actual results:

The browser usually hangs for about a minute, and then everything's fine. Except when I'm on youtube, in which case it creates a youtube video data bottleneck and causes smaller aftershock hangs for about another minute.


Expected results:

The browser really shouldn't freeze.

I couldn't reproduce this issue on Firefox 45 and Nightly 48 (Build ID 2016041205002948). Firefox worked well, no hang occurred. 
Can you try Firefox safe mode(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode) and also with a new profile (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles) to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause?
