I get email from hotmail and outlook friends, it normally comes in some strange
format with many forwards and attachments.

When I click forward the email is forwarded as an attachment not as inline as I
specified in Preferences

I believe this is a Mail window front end and posible MIME/HTML email back end
processing problem.

Often I get emails from hotmail, outlook, and other clients that send emails as
html, no problem with that, i'm not "platform-ist" and dont discriminate on
people choices of client/OS etc.

However IMO email is a text format, and should not be more if I configure it so.

When i get emails in html, with jpg attatchments or forwarded emails that
attached a "mail.eml" style file from someone else is email client. The problem
is that emails are not converted to text format when i click reply often.
sometimes they apear as text, others in html mode, other times one one long
line, and other times as an attachment!

Sometimes forward can convert it to inline quoting, then i can adjust the
subject back to normal and add the origional sender again. Other times forward
does not quote at all! but reply does..
Sometimes i get the > nice display other times it comes out as | (i suspect this
is html mode)


In the Preferences I have set it up so that forwarded messages are quoted
inline. and the "send format" is configured to convert to text format thus
lossing that awful formating html users are fond of :)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get an email from a fried with html and jpgs attatched and some strange
hotmail formating etc
2.I click forward the email is forwarded as an attachment not as inline as I
specified in Preferences
3. See it comes up as an attachment

Actual Results:  See it comes up as an attachment

Expected Results:  The attatched jpgs should be forwarded not the whole email file!
the text should be converted to inline text as I specified, reply does this

Reporter ([e-mail]) -- there are a lot of different assertions in your 
bug report, which may be different bugs.

If I'm not mistaken, tho, the basic problem of this bug is the same as bug 2903:
You receive an HTML mail with an inline image; you attempt to forward inline, as 
plain text, and the image is dropped.

If you agree, please mark this bug as a duplicate of that one.
