Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0
Build ID: 20160413135321
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Firefox on my brothers systems within the last few years or mine just today
2. Have bad luck
Actual results:
Firefox starts in a state where the address bar ignores the Enter key and the Go button, only navigating when links within the page are clicked.
Expected results:
I should never have to kill and restart Firefox to get the address bar to work.

does opening a new tab solve the problem in the new tab?
We recently fixed a similar bug, but I can't find the bug number atm.

No. If it were that simple, I probably wouldn't have considered it worth the effort to report.
The only way I found to force it to work again was restarting the browser.

Is this still reproducible in a recent version?

I just asked around. It seems to not have happened in a while, so I'll assume it's fixed.
