Details

Hi, I don't know why my bugzilla can't detect the version of my browser - this is a Mozilla 0.9.8 compiled from source. I came across an interesting problem when I edited an entry in mozilla/default/pref/all.js. When I modified this entry: pref("browser.cache.disk.enable", true); to pref("browser.cache.disk.enable", false); Any Flash Movie (swf) would not load. This means the area that the embedded flash would just become blank - even though "about:plugins" shows the plug in present. I've since found out that this option doesn't really do anything because under Linux we use unix.js, but it is interesting how this totally unrelated option would cause flash movies not loaded. The version of the Macromedia Flash Plugin is Flash5.0r47. Verified distributions are Debian Potato and Debian Woody. Mozilla 0.9.8 compiled from source with the following options: ac_add_options --enable-xinerama ac_add_options --disable-logging ac_add_options --disable-tests ac_add_options --disable-accessibility ac_add_options --enable-crypto ac_add_options --enable-jsd ac_add_options --disable-ldap ac_add_options --enable-mathml ac_add_options --enable-optimize ac_add_options --enable-strip-libs ac_add_options --disable-debug ac_add_options --disable-svg Final Note, this didn't happen in Mozilla 0.9.5 (the last release we were using here.) Cheers, Alastair
