Steps to reproduce:

create profile with default settings in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\defaults\profile"
With files: cert8.db, key3.db, localstore.rdf, mimetypes.rdf, permissions.sqlite, places.sqlite, prefs.js



Actual results:

When first time starting Firefox this files are ignored and not coppied to new user profile.
Custom certificates are lost, bookmarks for internal sites are lost, and other settings in user profile whitch are stored in this files are lost.


Expected results:

Files must be copied to new user profile.
Or give solution how to customize Firefox profile for new user. Looks that this is broken sync 46.0 and also broken in 46.0.1, 47, 48.

Thanks for the report.

Sync doesn't blindly copy these files, but attempts to Sync some of the data stored in them. Bug 1269548 tracks some of these things, but others you list here don't currently have bugs (eg, client certificates). Bookmarks should all be copied (so that's a bug rather than a feature request if it can be reproduced) and given we sync very specific things, saying "other settings" is too vague.

I'm marking this as a duplicate of that meta bug for this reason, but feel free to open new bugs with specific things that aren't synced but should be, and make them block bug 1269548 - eg, a bug that we don't sync client certificates would be a good candidate.

FF 45.0.2 Copy or "Sync" content of this files and all working fine, but starting FF 46.0 this is broken.
I will open NEW BUG and describe deeper.

I'm fairly sure you will find that Sync has never synced client certificates, site permissions and many other things stored in the files you listed. It has always synced bookmarks, and I could understand that something might have gone wrong for you with Firefox 46.
