When I start new e-mail (Message → New Message) or reply to a message, the font selection pulldown can be very wide due to list items that are very long and include the phrase "(not install)". These list items look like a series of font families from most specific (e.g. HelveticaNeue) to least specific (e.g. "san-serif") as they would be specified in CSS. This issue causes the buttons to the right of the font selection pulldown to be pushed far to right requiring the user to enlarge the composition window to a much larger than natural size in order to access those buttons. The first partial screenshot shows the list of fonts when I compose a new message. There is only one ("not installed") list item and it caused the pulldown to be about 30% wider than it would otherwise be. When I reply to e-mail from certain people, I pick up more "not installed" fonts as in the second screenshot attached which shows three such list items, one very long. Behavior prior to Thunderbird 45 was fine. Note: I originally reported this problem as a comment in Bug 1268520 but Flore Allemandou feels the problem is different enough that it should be reported as a new bug.

We've fixed the font indicator. That will be shipped in TB 45.1. See bug 1265326, bug 1267069 and bug 1265181. Or try TB 45.1beta1 - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/ It's already fixed in that release: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/45.1beta/releasenotes/ Prior to TB 45 the font indicator didn't react at all for unrecognised fonts. Yes, TB 45.0 is bad, but TB 45.1 will be incredibly good ;-)
