Version: Mozilla 0.9.8 Windows 2000

This is not a bug perse but an irritant. The ALERTS (Javascript I beleive) in
the above case "The Connection was refused when attempting to connect with
ad.doubleclick.net". 
Till I answer the alert I am not able to proceed with the main page of interest.
Is there a way by which I can either configure Mozilla to
Open Alerts in the background Like Opera?
